October Fun In Seattle 2022
October is full of fun events in Seattle. Even though Halloween and Oktoberfest play a big part this month, there are quite a few activities for those not into Halloween or beer. Here are some October fun in Seattle.
Fun Things to do in October
Seattle Restaurant Week- a great value!
If you enjoy dining out, you might want to explore Seattle Restaurant Week. From October 27 to November 7, you can enjoy 3 courses for just $35 from Sunday through Thursday. Over 165 restaurants of diverse cuisine participate in this event. Some of the restaurants include Dahlia Lounge, Daniel’s Broiler, El Gaucho, Buenos Aires Grill, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Yoroshiku, Cinque Terre Ristorante, just to name a few.
Film Festivals
This is a month of film festivals. There’s the South Asian Film Festival, the German Film Festival, Polish Film Festival. And for the young aspiring directors, there is the National Film Festival for Talented Youth featuring films by young directors. It’s a film festival for emerging filmmakers. Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest in Leavenworth has live music, German food, arts and crafts, and of course, beer! You can even bring your children to this event. But the little ones younger than 12 must leave by 9 p.m. It’s so well attended that there are 3 weekends devoted to Oktoberfest here. October 4-5, 11-12, and 18-19. Book fair of collectible prints, maps, and manuscripts
If you want to avoid the festivities, and are fond of rare books, you might explore The Seattle Book Fair at the Seattle Center from October 12-13. Here you’ll find collectible books, prints, maps, autographs, posters, photographs, manuscripts. There is something interesting for any budget.
Halloween fun for the family
And if you are into Halloween, there is an abundance of activities for both children and adults. Parties, race, pumpkin festivals, Halloween on a farm, at the zoo. Here is a link to this long list of events that you and your family can enjoy. It’s the time of year when you can dress as a character you like. And even be awarded a prize for best costume!
In fact, Central Market in Shoreline makes such an event of Halloween that they often have well over 1,000 visitors enjoying their games, hayrides, and parading their costumes.
So, there you have it. A variety of activities to enjoy in or near Seattle in October. Not just Halloween-related. Not just Oktoberfest. But film festivals, book fair, and restaurant experience at a bargain. So, don’t stay home in October. Go and do something fun!
